The Blessing
Holy Matrimony, God giving the blessing of marriage to his sons and daughters and forgiving/ removing their original sin.

Cheon Il Guk
Korean expression for “nation of cosmic peace and unity”. It’s the nation of God’s love, the kingdom of heaven on earth.

Divine Principle
Also called the “Principle”. Theological teaching of the founder of the Unification Movement, Sun Myung Moon. It is based on revelations received by the Founder Sun Myung Moon and was systematized and written down by early disciples.  The root of this teaching is Christianity. It has new insights about the nature of God, the purpose of life, man’s departure from God, the mission of the Messiah, about human history and God’s struggle to restore mankind, etc.

Era of the Fourth Adam
The conclusion of the age of restoration, when God and Adam can take rest. The time when God’s purpose of creation comes to fruition. Father Moon proclaimed this age in 1999, stating that it is time for blessed couples to represent True Parents.

Perfection Stage
According to the Principle there are three stages of growth. After the third stage, comes the Perfection stage in which people spiritually enter the “direct dominion of God” in which they are one with God and able to feel and communicate directly with Him.

FFWPU (Family Federation for World Peace and Unification)
An organization founded by Sun Myung Moon. Having originally founded the Unification Church, Sun Myung Moon officially abolished this organization in 1996 and founded the Family Federation. Father Moon never intended to found a new religion. The Family Federation is the main legal body of the Unification Movement since then and is mainly dealing with issues that strengthen the traditional family, a very important building block towards establishing an ideal nation and an ideal world.

Spiritual World
The world our spirit self lives in. According to Sun Myung Moon, the spiritual world is just as real as the physical, visible world. It is like our spirit, beyond time and space. The spiritual world is the place our spirit goes to live after departure from the physical world.

Sun Myung Moon
Born in Korea, in 1920. When he was 15 years old, on Easter Sunday, Jesus appeared to him and asked him to fulfil the mission he could not complete during his lifetime. Rev. Moon then started his spiritual quest for the truth and the purpose of life. In 1960 he received the Blessing with Hak Ja Han, thus becoming the True Parents of mankind.
Despite much opposition and despite having to serve 6 prison terms, Father Moon triumphed over all difficulties and created the vast Unification Movement, having global impact that influences the course of human history in the direction of eventually creating the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth and in Heaven.

Three Stages of Growth
Growing period every being goes through before reaching perfection.
Formation ⇒ Growth ⇒ Completion. (e.g. apple seed, growing tree, maturing tree bearing fruit).
People go through these stages physically and spiritually.
 Child ⇒ Adolescent ⇒ Adult.

Three Blessings
God’s purpose of creation and man’s purpose of life are fulfilled through the three Blessings: To be fruitful (individual perfection), multiply (family perfection) and have dominion (love all things as God loves them).

True Parents
The first human parents, Adam and Eve, failed to become the True Parents of mankind and multiplied the fallen lineage instead. Jesus became the spiritual True Parent, giving spiritual rebirth through the Holy Spirit to believers. In order for salvation to become complete and manifest itself physically on Earth, we need to be reborn physically and spiritually through True Parents.

UPF (Universal Peace Federation)
International and interreligious network of individuals and organizations, dedicated to achieving world peace. NGO with special consultative status to the United Nations, dedicated to interfaith peacebuilding, peace education, and the strengthening of marriage and family.

Unification Church
Established by Father Moon in 1954 as the “Holy Spirit Association for the Unification World Christianity” and named in short the Unification Church. Father Moon’s original mission was not to create a new religion but to unite world Christianity.
